Permanent Outdoor Lighting Installation in Las Vegas and Henderson
Roofline and architectural LED lighting, installed and wired by licensed electricians. One system for the holidays, game days and every night in between.
Henderson office. Serving the entire Las Vegas Valley.
What Is Permanent Outdoor Lighting?
Permanent outdoor lighting is a weatherproof LED system mounted to your home or building year round. Small, individually controlled lights sit in a low-profile track along the roofline, eaves and other architectural lines. In daylight they are hard to notice. At night you run them from your phone: warm white for everyday, full color for Christmas, Halloween, July 4th or game day. No ladders, no yearly hang and take down, no tangled strings in a garage.
Homeowners in Henderson and Las Vegas use permanent lighting for curb appeal, for holiday displays, and simply to light the house every evening. Businesses use it to outline storefronts and buildings.

Why Have a Licensed Electrician Install Permanent Lighting
Many permanent lighting companies specialize in the lights themselves. The system still needs safe, code-compliant power, and that is electrical work. Penny Electric is a licensed electrical contractor, so the lighting and the electrical behind it come from one team.
What that means for your project:
- Power done properly. We place the controller and power supply, run the wiring, and add a dedicated outdoor circuit or GFCI-protected outlet when the job needs one.
- Permits and code. New circuits and outlets are regulated electrical work. We pull permits where required and build to current code.
- Protected connections. Wire runs, connections and penetrations are made and sealed by electricians, not left as loose cords and exposed splices.
- Panel capacity checked. If a new circuit pushes your service, we assess it and handle any electrical panel upgrade ourselves.
- One contractor to call. If a section stops working, the lights and the power behind them are covered by one phone call.
Where We Install Permanent Lights
Rooflines, Eaves and Soffits
The most common installation. Track follows the fascia, eave or soffit line of the house, including peaks, corners and gables. It is designed for the stucco, fascia and tile roof edges common across Henderson and Las Vegas.
Gables, Columns and Architectural Features
Accent the lines that give a house its shape: gable peaks, columns, entry features and dormers. Separate zones let you light the roofline and the accents in different colors or at different brightness.
Patios, Garages and Outdoor Living Spaces
Pergolas, patio covers and garage door lines can run on the same system, so the whole exterior is controlled from one app.
Commercial Buildings
Storefronts, office buildings, restaurants and HOA entries use permanent lighting to stay visible after dark and to switch to seasonal colors without a lift crew. Commercial jobs are scoped with a site visit and coordinated with our commercial electrical services team.
Permanent Holiday Lights and Everyday Lighting in One System
A permanent system does the work of a seasonal display and a year round lighting package.
We install permanent systems only. We do not offer seasonal hang and take-down service.
- Everyday: true warm white from a dedicated white LED channel, not a tinted color mix, on a schedule you control.
- Christmas and Hanukkah: red and green, blue and white, or any custom pattern, switched on from your phone. These are permanent Christmas lights that never come down.
- Other occasions: Halloween orange, July 4th, birthdays and team colors for game day.
Permanent vs Temporary Holiday Lights
If you hang lights every December, this is how the two approaches compare.
| Topic | Temporary holiday lights | Permanent lighting |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Temporary lights are hung and removed every season, by you or a crew. | Permanent lights are installed once. |
| Appearance | Temporary strings and clips are visible against the roof and vary in quality. | A permanent track gives a clean, even line that follows the architecture. |
| Color | Temporary lights usually have fixed colors. | Permanent lights change to any color from the app. |
| Use outside the holidays | Temporary lights go back in storage. | Permanent lights run warm white or any color all year. |
| Cost pattern | Temporary lights cost less up front and recur every season. | Permanent lights cost more up front with no yearly hanging cost. |
| Power | Temporary lights rely on extension cords and plug-in outlets. | Permanent lights get planned, dedicated power. |
If you want lights up for a few weeks a year, temporary lights cost less. If you want a cleaner look, automatic schedules and lighting that works all year, permanent is the better fit.

Control Your Permanent Lights From Your Phone
Once the system is installed, everything runs from your phone, computer or smart home platform such as Alexa or Google Home.
Turn the lights on, off or down to the brightness you want.
Set schedules that run automatically, such as warm white from sunset until a set time.
Choose warm white, any solid color, or a holiday preset.
Split the house into zones, such as the front roofline, side rooflines and accents, and light each one differently.
Save scenes for the occasions you use most and switch between them in one tap.
Sync lights to music for parties, game days and holidays.
Everything is set up and demonstrated at your walkthrough.
Built for Las Vegas Heat, Sun and Wind
Desert conditions are hard on outdoor electrical products. Summer heat and UV break down low-grade plastics and adhesives, wind gusts during monsoon season work loose anything poorly secured, and a leaking penetration in stucco or a tile roof edge becomes a repair bill.
Permanent Lighting and Your HOA
Many Henderson and Las Vegas communities, including master-planned neighborhoods such as Anthem, Green Valley, Southern Highlands and Summerlin, require architectural review for exterior changes. Check your CC&Rs before you commit.
How Much Does Permanent Lighting Cost in Las Vegas?
Permanent lighting is priced by the project, not as a flat package. Five things set the price:
- Linear footage of lighting
- Coverage: front only, front and sides, or full perimeter
- Roofline height and complexity: single or two-story, number of peaks and corners
- Power: existing outlets nearby, or a new circuit and wiring
- Controls: how many zones you want to run independently
Because we are electricians, the power work is part of your quote, not a separate bid from another contractor. You receive a written quote before work begins, so you know the total before you commit.

Permanent Lighting FAQs
Q1. How much does permanent outdoor lighting cost in Las Vegas?
It is priced per project. Footage, coverage, roofline height, power requirements and the number of control zones all affect the total. We measure on site and give you a written quote before any work begins, including the electrical work.
Q2. How long do permanent outdoor lights last?
Quality LED systems are commonly rated for 50,000 hours or more. At six hours of use a night, that is more than 20 years on paper. Real-world life depends on the product and the installation. The system we install is covered by a 3-year manufacturer warranty, and every installation is performed by licensed electricians.
Q3. Can permanent lights stay up all year?
Yes. That is how they are designed to be used. IP68 weather-rated, UV-resistant components are built to stay outside through desert summer heat, sun and wind. You switch colors and schedules in the app instead of taking anything down.
Q4. Will permanent lights damage my roof, stucco or gutters?
Installed correctly, no. The track follows your existing fascia or eave line and every mounting point is sealed against water. Poor mounting or sealing is what causes problems, which is why we assess your roofline during the site visit.
Q5. Can I change the colors for holidays?
Yes. The app has presets for major holidays and lets you build your own colors, patterns and schedules. You can change them from your phone in seconds, as often as you like.
Q6. Can you see the lights during the day?
Up close you can see the low-profile track. From the street it is hard to spot, and finishes are available that blend with most trim colors.
Q7. Do I need a permit or HOA approval?
They are two separate things. New circuits and outlets require an electrical permit where the jurisdiction requires one, and we handle that. HOA approval is your community's decision. We supply layouts and specifications to support your application.
Q8. Do you install permanent lighting for businesses?
Yes. Storefronts, offices, restaurants and other commercial buildings are scoped with a site visit. Request a quote and tell us it is a business property.
Q9. Do you also hang and take down seasonal Christmas lights?
No. We install permanent systems only. If you want holiday color without the yearly ladder work, permanent lights give you Christmas colors on demand and warm white the rest of the year.
Q10. Can you work on lights I already own or a system someone else installed?
Call us. We review customer-supplied systems and existing installations case by case. For the electrical side, such as power, outlets and circuits, we can help regardless of who installed the lights.
Q11. How long does installation take?
It depends on footage, roofline complexity and whether new electrical work is needed. Most installs are completed in a few days. We give you a schedule in your written quote.
Q12. Is permanent lighting worth it?
If you currently hire seasonal installers or hang lights yourself every year, a permanent system replaces that recurring cost and effort, and it gives you nightly lighting the rest of the year. If you only want lights for a few weeks, a permanent system is probably more than you need. We will tell you that during the quote.
